Social Impact Across different countries and causes, I've had the privilege of showing up by building water tanks in Tanzania, teaching kids to ride bikes in Amsterdam, founding a youth cooperative in Turkey, and running digital workshops for children in underserved communities. These experiences shaped how I think about change as collaborative and deeply personal.
Spent two summers in rural villages, rebuilding and painting homes in Viti Levu, Fiji, and mixing cement for school construction in Midabini, Tanzania. Also built a water tank, helped on a local farm, cooked for a women's homeless shelter, and gave arts, crafts, and English lessons to children at three different schools. Living in the villages and immersing with local culture was as formative as the work itself.
Participated in the Cultural Industry Festival and volunteered at Inkluzivna Farma which is a project supporting children and youth with mental and physical disabilities, as well as earthquake survivors, through garden workshops and community activities. It was a deeply grounding experience in what inclusive spaces can look like.
Volunteered with community organisations in Amsterdam and Haarlem, working closely with children in two very different contexts. In Amsterdam, I helped teach preschool and primary school children from different cultural backgrounds to ride a bike, a small thing, maybe, but one that builds confidence and a sense of belonging in a city where cycling is a way of life. In Haarlem, I volunteered with Ukrainian children displaced by the war, as part of a community hub built around the idea that safety and belonging matter as much as practical support.
Started as an e-volunteer helping children aged 7–13 in disadvantaged areas discover their talents through online workshops. After six months, I was invited to join the leadership team to create workshop content, facilitate communication between volunteers, children, and parents, and mentor new volunteers. This experience showed me how online spaces can hold meaningful connection.
I was also one of the founding members of a Youth Cooperative working to address the challenges facing young people. Helped organise two conferences for activist youth, and developed a social enterprise product (a youth bracelet) to raise funds for our projects. It was my first experience building something from the ground up with a social purpose at its core.
